The College Navigator website is part of the National Center for Education Statistics. Students should expect that their experience at Regis University will be positive, meaningful, and academically challenging. In the unfortunate case that a student is not satisfied with their experience, there are several avenues to explore in resolving complaints. Copyright infringement is the act of exercising, without permission or legal authority, one or more of the exclusive rights granted to the copyright owner under section 106 of the Copyright Act (Title 17 of the United States Code). These rights include the right to reproduce or distribute a copyrighted work. In the file-sharing context, downloading or uploading substantial parts of a copyrighted work without authority constitutes an infringement. Penalties for copyright infringement include civil and criminal penalties. In general, anyone found liable for civil copyright infringement may be ordered to pay either actual damages or “statutory” damages affixed at not less than $750 and not more than $30,000 per work infringed. For “willful” infringement, a court may award up to $150,000 per work infringed. A court can, in its discretion, also assess costs and attorneys’ fees. For details, see Title 17, United States Code, Sections 504, 505. Willful copyright infringement can also result in criminal penalties, including imprisonment of up to five years and fines of up to $250,000 per offense. Regis University is active in combatting copyright infringement, including pursuit of civil and criminal penalties for distributing copyrighted material (including unauthorized peer-to-peer file sharing and the prohibited use of the institution's information technology system for those activities)
The cost of attendance is a combination of direct and indirect expenses. Direct expenses include tuition and fees and estimated room and board if you are living on-campus. Indirect expenses may vary based on enrollment and off-campus living arrangements. Average costs are provided for estimating purposes by the state of Colorado each year for books/supplies, off-campus housing, travel, and personal expenses. Please note since Regis University is a private university, state residency status does not affect tuition rates and tuition is the same for in and out of state students.

GLBA Compliance
In 1999 Congress enacted the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA). This act created a framework for the protection and regulation of privacy and data security for financial institutions. In December of 2021 the GBLA was revised to apply to higher education institutions that maintain consumer information on more than 5,000 “customers.”
As of December 9th, 2022, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) requires higher education institutions like Regis to notify their customers (students) how non-public information is shared and protected.
Regis University has in place security safeguards that meet all requirements of GLBA compliance under Federal Trade Commission 16 CFR Part 314.4(c) (Safeguards.)

These safeguards include:
- Having in place a written information security program (WISP).
- Having a written incident response plan in place.
- Technical and physical access controls.
- Inventory of data, personnel, devices, systems, and facilities.
- Encryption of all customer information in transit and at rest.
- Requiring multi-factor authentication for accessing any system housing consumer information.
- Having processes in place for the secure destruction of data and the periodic review of data retention policies.
- Having processes in place for change management.
- Having a system in place for the logging and monitoring activities of authorized individuals and detecting unauthorized access or compromised accounts, devices, or systems.
- Conducting continuous vulnerability assessments.
- Requiring quarterly information security awareness training of all Regis employees.
- Reviewing vendor relationships to assure they have similar controls in place and putting any potential new relationships through a robust cyber security vetting process before contractually committing to such relationship.

Important Information About HIPAA
Regis University became a Hybrid Covered Entity (HCE) under the HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) in June of 2013. While the University is subject primarily to the FERPA Law (Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act), parts of the University carry on health care activities that include non-student services which are subject to HIPAA. Therefore, the University has designated the following areas that are subject to the Law:

Systems, resources, user activities and processes within the HCE areas will be monitored to verify proper operation of the university’s HIPAA privacy and security practices. All violations of the Regis University HIPAA information security program, its policies and associated practices shall be reported to the Regis University HIPAA Privacy & Security Committee. Serious or repeat violations will, when appropriate, be reported to the Human Resources Department or Legal Department for follow-up.

The Net Price Calculator helps prospective students determine their total cost of attendance at Regis University. A refund will be issued to you when all charges have been paid and there is a credit balance on your student account. A refund may be generated due to an overpayment, a disbursement of federal Title IV funds, and/or a reversal of tuition charges as a result of a withdraw. The Ranger Station Bookstore is your one-stop for everything from class-required textbooks, school supplies and Regis gear. Financial Aid students with disbursement eligibility above the cost of tuition are eligible to utilize a book voucher to take an advance on the financial aid refund. The book voucher form is found at WebAdvisor. Students utilizing a book voucher understand that if, for any reason, financial aid is not applied to the student account, the student is responsible for repaying the amount received.

Title IX is the federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in higher education institutions that receive federal funding. The Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act added domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking to the list of sex offenses that higher education institutions must investigate and report in their Annual Security Report. Regis University is committed to eliminating incidents of gender-based discrimination, rape, sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual misconduct or domestic violence by instituting a policy that focuses on increasing awareness through prevention and education. Student Financial Assistance

The Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) of 2008 adds to the federal financial aid Program Participation Agreement a requirement that an institution participating in a Title IV loan program must develop, publish, administer, and enforce a code of conduct that includes specific bans and prohibitions. Also as part of the Regis University community, the Financial Aid office subscribes to a set of ethical principles that incorporates the Regis University Mission; the Enrollment Services Vision, Mission and Values; and guidelines provided by the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA). All new borrowers at Regis University must complete Federal Direct Loan Entrance Counseling online at studentloans.gov and enter the Regis University school code of 001363. To receive loan funds promptly, students should complete this required counseling at least two weeks before the beginning of the semester.
Exit counseling is required for students who are graduating or leaving school. Exit counseling does not prevent students from borrowing federal loans at Regis University in the future, and is not sufficient to officially withdraw from school. The counseling provides useful information to help students understand their rights and responsibilities as federal loan borrowers and prepares them for repayment of federal student loans. You will receive notification from the Financial Aid office when you need to complete exit counseling, either before your expected graduation date or if you have officially withdrawn from the university. Exit counseling is also completed online at studentloans.gov.

Student Outcomes
Information about graduate and professional education pursued by alumni and information about the placement and types of employment obtained by graduates is available from the Center for Career and Professional Development.
Graduation rates are available for a cohort of students for whom 150% of the normal time-to-completion has elapsed and fall-to-fall retention rates outline the percentage of students who returned from the prior fall. This information is compiled by the Office of Academic Records and Registration and updated by July 1 every year.
Graduation rates for a cohort of students in relation to Federal Financial Aid can be found on Federal Pell Grant Recipient Ethnicity.
The cohort of students utilized for this data are first-time, full-time students and retention is defined as the percentage of students who returned from the prior fall. For questions regarding this data, please contact the Office of Academic Records and Registration.
Under the Equity in Athletics Disclosure ACT (EADA), schools must provide equitable athletic opportunities for its men and women students. The EADA report provides participation rates, financial support, and other information on men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletic programs at Regis University.
